YouTube Comment Engagement Tips
Commenting on YouTube isn't just about sharing your opinion; it's a powerful networking tool. Whether you're a creator trying to build relationships with bigger channels, or a viewer wanting to get your comment pinned, the strategy matters.
Add Value
Don't just say "Great video!" Pick a specific point the creator made at a specific timestamp and expand on it. Creators love pinned comments that add context or summarize complex ideas for other viewers.
Be Early
The algorithm favors comments that get immediate engagement. Turn on post notifications for creators in your niche and leave a thoughtful comment within the first 30 minutes of upload.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can leaving comments help grow my own channel?
Absolutely. If you leave a witty or highly informative comment on a massive video, it can get thousands of likes and sit at the top of the comment section. Viewers will often click your profile to see who you are, driving organic traffic to your channel.
Q: Why do my comments get deleted or ghosted?
YouTube has aggressive spam filters. If you include links, excessive emojis, repetitive phrases, or if your channel name sounds like a bot (e.g., "Sub4Sub"), YouTube will shadowban your comment. Ensure your comments are natural and unique.
